An update from Henry-Senachwine Schools:
The road conditions continue to be icy. As a result Henry-Senachwine Schools will be canceled for today (Tuesday, January 23).
This will NOT be an E-learning day, as we have used all 5 available E-Learning days. Today will be a traditional snow day.
Afternoon athletics and extracurriculars are TBD


Due to the icy roads, there will be no in-person school today, Monday, January 22nd, 2024. Instead, we will use an E-learning day for today. Students should log into Google Classroom for their E-Learning Day classes or follow directions previously given to them by their classroom teachers. Bell schedules are in the student Google Classroom class page. Teachers will be available from 8:30 am to 1:30 p.m. All bus transportation routes (including ACC, Kiefer, Hall, BEST, Safe School) are cancelled for today.
All extracurricular and athletic activities, games, & practices are cancelled for this morning and are TBD for this afternoon/evening.


HSHS will be hosting the Tri County Conference Girls Basketball Tournament tomorrow, January 13th. The Lady Mallards will play St. Bede at 10:00 a.m. Boys Basketball is in charge of concessions. FBLA is in charge of concessions on Monday, January 15th. Putnam County will play Dwight at 11:15 a.m. Marquette will play Seneca at 12:30 p.m. Midland will play Roanoke Benson at 1:45.

Mr. Eckert and the Henry-Senachwine Chorus will be featured in the WEEK-TV's "Songs of the Season" holiday program. The special broadcast features area high school choirs performing holiday favorites. This is a one hour program that will air on WEEK-TV stations on December 24th and 25th. Henry-Senachwine High School Government Teacher, Alexa Damerell took a handful of students (Andon McQuade, Harper Schrock, Daniel Hill, and Alexia Serpette) to participate in State Senator Thomas Bennett's Fall 2023 Youth Advisory Council at the Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center in Pontiac, Illinois on Wednesday, December 6th.

Congratulations to HSHS Junior, Jackson Knisley. He was selected as the Midland FFA, Member of the Month for November. Congrats, Jack!


All Aboard! The Henry-Senachwine High School Student Council hopped on board the Polar Express Saturday morning for the Henry, Illinois Christmas Parade.


Sophomores, Jostens will be here to deliver your class rings this Friday, December 1st before school starting at 8:00am. If you have not made your final payment, please bring it with you on Friday so you can pick up your ring.

Scholastic Bowl kicked off their season Saturday with four of our HSHS members participating in the Mike Hendricks Memorial tournament at Blue Ridge High School against 7 other teams. HSHS finished 3-4 on the day with individual awards presented to Ben Meachum (3rd overall) and Waylon Lindstrom (5th overall) on the All-Tournament Team based on individual toss-up scores. #GoMallardsHSHS!
