Orientation for the Class of 2028 will be held in the HSHS Auditorium on Monday, August 19th beginning at 5:00 p.m. Class of 2028 students and their parents/guardians will receive information from HSHS Administration, the School Counselor, and other Faculty/Staff members before walking their class schedules, finding their lockers, and meeting their teachers. Dear Henry-Senachwine Parents, Guardians, and Staff:
I am writing to provide an update on today’s fire alarm evacuation at HSGS/JH. Today, a little before 12:00 p.m., a fire alarm went off at HSGS/JH. Staff and students were evacuated from the building and walked to the Methodist Church to wait while the Henry Fire Department inspected HSGS/JH for the source of the fire alarm. It was determined that an alarm went off, but there was no fire or danger to the students or staff. Once given the all clear, students and staff were bussed from the Methodist Church back to HSGS/JH. Upon return, students who had yet to eat were fed lunch. It was decided to dismiss the District early at 2:00 p.m., due the fact that HSGS/JH students and staff were wet and uncomfortable after being outside in the rain during the evacuation.
All students and staff are safe. Thank you to all of our students for their excellent behavior and to all of our staff for assisting in many roles as we evacuated, transported, returned to school, made announcements, provided lunch, and adjusted schedules. Thank you to our parents/guardians for your patience, understanding and support during this time. Thank you to the Henry Fire Department, law enforcement, and the staff at Methodist Church for your response, expertise, and assistance.

All Juniors will be taking the CollegeBoard SAT on Wednesday, April 10th. Testing begins at 8:25 a.m. Seniors will not attend school. Seniors should take a College Visit, work on Scholarships, or do some sort of Community Service.
JV Baseball is now hosting Seneca JV this afternoon (Friday, April 5th) instead of Midland JV here at HSHS @ 4:30 p.m. Midland JV cancelled and we were able to fill the vacancy with Seneca.
Varsity Baseball is traveling to IVC.

This year’s Illinois Principals Association John Ourth Awards were presented to Henry-Senachwine High School students Preston Rowe and MacKenzie Hartwig. Preston and MacKenzie received their awards on Feb. 29th at Streator High School. The award is presented to two exceptional students who represent good citizenship, outstanding student performance, and leadership abilities.

Henry-Senachwine High School raised over $6,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois. Organized and led by HSHS students MacKenzie Hartwig and Jackson Knisley, various fundraisers were held throughout the week of January 29th - February 2nd. After all the funds were counted, HSHS students and staff were thrilled to learn that their efforts raised $6,545.34. On Thursday, February 22nd, MacKenzie and Jackson traveled to Peoria, Illinois to deliver the donation check. Thank you to the HSHS students and staff, the Henry-Senachwine community, and the many business sponsors for making this event a success.
Congratulations to Mr. Bush and the HSHS Scholastic Bowl Team for their 2nd Place finish at the Tri-County Conference Scholastic Bowl Tournament. Ben Meachum led the team with 35 tossups & Waylon Lindstrom added 30. Both were named to the TCC All-Conference Tournament Team. Scholastic Bowl travels to Roanoke-Benson for Regional play on Monday, March 4th.
