
Attention Senior Athletes and Senior Scholastic Bowl Members..
Just a reminder that the HS Athletic Boosters is taking Senior Banner Pics TONIGHT from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at HSHS.


The mandatory parent meeting for any athletes participating in Cross Country is this Saturday, August 7th at 9:00 a.m. in the Auditorium at Henry-Senachwine High School. Please contact Coach Emmons at memmons@hscud5.org with any questions.


Updated Mask Guidance:
Per the Governor’s Executive Order, effective immediately, masks are required to be worn indoors by all teachers, staff, students, visitors in all PK-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.
As a result, masks are required when indoors in any Henry-Senachwine School District building. This mask requirement also extends to indoor athletic events, practices, open gyms, weightlifting, etc.

Don't forget, the Henry-Senachwine Athletic Booster Club is meeting TONIGHT at 6:30 p.m. in Room 8 at HSHS.
All attendees will have to enter and exit the building through the doors at the new office (follow the duck feet) due to some concrete work at the north academic entrance.

HSCUD #5 is doing some storage clean-up and is having a rummage sale on Monday, July 26 and Wednesday, July 28 from 8 a.m. - 1p.m. in the HSGS/JH parking lot (near the white buildings by the playground). Older & used Items for sale include student desks, chairs, a variety of tables/desks, carts, cabinets, white boards, and other miscellaneous items.
If interested, feel free to stop by to pick through some of the items. Payment for the items will be by donation

Henry-Senachwine High School is currently looking for a Head Track Coach.
The Head Track Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the track and field program. The coach must demonstrate leadership in player and staff development, sportsmanship, integrity, and character development. Qualified candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills. They must demonstrate knowledge of the skills and strategies of the sport of track and field as it pertains to interscholastic athletics in Illinois.
Interested candidates need to submit a statement of interest to Dr. Hill no later than Friday, August 6, 2021.

Congratulations to Nakeita Kessling. Nakeita was named the 2021 NewsTribune Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year. During the 2020-2021 school year, Nakeita was a member of the Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball, and Track teams. In last month's IHSA 1A State Track Meet, Nakeita finished with a pair of top 5 state medals, finishing 5th in the 400 meter run and 4th in the long jump.


Six girls competed in five events at the 1A IHSA State Track Meet on Thursday, June 10th at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois: Daphaney Kessling, Nadia Kessling, Nakeita Kessling, Laney Lester, and Jersey Johnson. Nakeita Kessling placed 4th in the Long Jump and 5th in the 400 Meter Dash. Congrats to Nakeita and congrats to all of our IHSA State Qualifiers. We are proud of you!

Congratulations to the following athletes for qualifying to the IHSA State Track & Field meet. Henry-Senachwine junior Nakeita Kessling moved on to state in three events as she won the long jump, finished second in the 400 and ran on the team's winning 4x400 relay team. Henry-Senachwine sophomore Laney Lester moved on to state in two events as she finished second in both the shot put and discus events. The 4x400 relay team of Daphaney Kessling (Freshman), Jersey Johnson (Freshman), Nadia Kessling (Senior), and Nakeita Kessling (Junior) won the 1A Tremont Sectional advancing to the IHSA State Track meet with a time of 4:25.72. We would like to congratulate these ladies on their accomplishments and wish them luck as they compete at Eastern Illinois University on Thursday, June 10th!


Wednesday, June 2nd is the last Red Day of the school year! Students should return all their Red Day books/supplies after their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th hour classes.


Thursday, June 3rd is the last day of school for students.
