May Student of the Month
Nakeita Kessling
Nakeita Kessling has been named the Henry-Senachwine High School Student of the Month. Nakeita is the daughter of Nick and Donna Kessling. Nakeita was nominated, then selected, from a group of students by the HSHS faculty and staff. Currently a senior at HSHS,
Nakeita is actively involved in the school and student life. Nakeita has been an Honor Roll student all four years at HSHS and is a member of the National Honor Society. Nakeita has participated in: LMAC (4 years); Math Team (2 years); Red Krush (4 years); Basketball (4 years); Cross Country (2 years); Track & Field (4 years) and Volleyball (4 years).
Outside of school, Nakeita has volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and helped with Treat the Troops.
After high school, Nakeita plans to attend Lewis University and major in Exercise Science.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the school board meeting, Nakeita will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the district designating her as "Student of the Month." In addition, she will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry. The student body, faculty and staff, and community congratulate Nakeita on receiving this honor in recognition of her accomplishments and contributions at HSHS!
