Last week, the Henry-Senachwine High School Student Council organized Penny Wars, a competition in which each class competed against each other to see who could bring in the most coins. The silver coins, as well as any cash, were counted as positive points while the pennies were negative. After a very competitive week, the sophomore class won, followed by junior, freshman, and senior classes. The teachers also contributed to the cause by paying to wear jeans on Monday of Finals Week. The total amount that the HSHS students and teachers brought in was an astronomical $1550.10. All of the money will be donated to the Red Stocking fund and used to get gifts for underprivileged children in the community.
