Emily Culp is the Henry-Senachwine High School Student of the Month. She was nominated, then selected by the high school faculty and staff. Emily is the daughter of Craig and Aimee Culp.
Emily is a senior at HSHS and is very involved in the school as well as in student life. She has been a High Honor Roll student during Junior year and Honor Roll student her Sophomore and Freshman years. Emily is a member of the National Honor Society. Emily has also participated in Chorus, FCCLA, HSHS Musicals, Student Council, and Yearbook. She is a member of the Cheerleading and Dance Teams, and is a Manager for the Lady Mallard Softball Team.
Outside of school, Emily has volunteered with River Valley Players and Job’s Daughters for special events and Spider Hill.
Emily plans to attend Illinois Central College then transfer to Illinois State University. She will be working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education to be a primary school teacher.
Emily will be recognized at the Wednesday, October 16, 2024 meeting of the Henry-Senachwine Board of Education. She will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the school district designating her as "October Student of the Month." In addition, she will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry.
