Matthew Wehr has been named the Henry-Senachwine High School Student of the Month.

Matthew is the son of Scott and Brandy Wehr. Matthew was nominated, then selected, from a group of students by the HSHS faculty and staff. Matthew is a senior at HSHS and is actively involved in the school and student life. He has been a member of the District Band and the Pep Band all four years and is currently a member of the Welding Team. 

Outside of school, Matthew has volunteered at the A.R.K. animal shelter in Lacon. 

After high school, Matthew will attend Illinois Central College. He plans on attending the Think Big Program to be an Altorfer Cat Diesel Mechanic.

On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Henry-Senachwine Board of Education Meeting, Matthew will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the district designating him as "Student of the Month." In addition, he will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry.
